Itinerary

Sample Itinerary

Go by Boat to Greenwich
Use London’s most unique and comfortable public transport to see the city from a different perspective.

Hear Stories of Britain’s Seafaring History
Britain is a nation of sailors, and Greenwich has many historic links. From Royal Navy headquarters and sea merchants’ warehouses to gibbets where pirates and mutineers were hung as a terrible warning, this area has seen it all.

See a Perfectly Preserved Historic Ship
Visit the world’s last surviving tea clipper (a historic cargo ship), the Cutty Sark. Hear stories about the ship’s name and figurehead, tales of mutiny and murder, and how she was almost lost in a very recent fire.

Stunning 18th-Century Architecture
Choose from the many fascinating museums and historical sites on offer at Greenwich. Visit the world’s largest maritime museum, the Royal Naval College, or the famously beautiful Palladian-style Queen’s House.

Naval Know-How at the Royal Naval College
Now a modern-day museum, this is where Britain’s sailors from Lord Nelson to Captain Cook were trained. Here, the navy can teach you to navigate by the stars, command a frigate, and even survive a polar expedition.

See Where Time Stands Still
A short walk up the hill in Greenwich Park lies the Royal Observatory, where Greenwich Mean Time (and time zones around the world) is marked. This is also the best spot for views of London’s skyline (as seen in countless movies) from the Observatory
