Quirky Christmas Fun in Borough
Well, it’s actually snowed in London – Christmas must really be in full swing! So let us introduce you to the latest addition to the delights of Borough: The Imaginarum Christmas-themed pop-up.
Set up in the Hunter Penrose, a Victorian warehouse normally used for filming, you can star in your very own fantasy Christmas experience with their programme of events and Christmas-post-themed dinners. And that’s just the upstairs. When Totally Tailored visited, we found delightful cake and coffee and fabulous shopping on the ground floor.
It’s Christmas Shopping, but not as we know it.
So for a Christmas experience with a bit of edge, head straight for The Imaginarium. And as an early present, we’re going to treat you to some of our pictures. So, feast your eyes…
Tour Guide Tip: One of the shops hosts a collective of makers you won’t find anywhere else.
Their wares include shibari rope art by Anna from Figure of A, latex fashion by Rose Noir Designsand millinery by Isla Campbell.

And a guest on one of our shopping tours bought this feathered headdress, got in a taxi, and wore it straight out to tea at Fortnum & Mason!

Told you.

Here’s Beatrice living out her Grace Kelly fantasies on a cold winter night in Southwark…
Smoking Gun Vintage have gorgeous offerings – their motto is ‘All Killer, No Filler’. Preach.

And for a burst of colour, the lovely Lucy from Violet Elizabeth sources vintage saris to make beautiful gifts – whether for someone else, or for yourself!
The coffee is great, and the shops are open Wednesday to Sunday, 11am ’til late, until Christmas Eve.
The Imaginarium is running amazing Christmas events, like interactive dining experiences and wreath-making workshops. Check out their event programme for a chance to make Christmas that bit more unusual.

UPDATE: the people behind the Imaginarium are launching a permanent venue right across the road! The Hart Club will be an inclusive project space in London for the community, which will represent neurodiverse artists. There’s also a restaurant and a garden, and the space opens in May – see you there!
